Since 1999 SPW Tanzania has been implementing volunteer-led programmes through the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. Previously these programmes consisted of two separate programmes known as the Community Resources Program (CRP) and the Student Health Education Program (SHEP). These programmes have now been combined into a more expansive programme known as the Kijana ni Afya programme. In addition, SPW Tanzania runs an Ex-Volunteer Network, harnessing the dedication, skills and experience of former volunteers, to work in and around the Institutions of Higher Learning in Dar es Salaam.
