Non-Governmental Organisations Femina-HIP - Femina magazine is distributed free to all SPW placements and is available to read in the SPW Youth Centre in Iringa. SPW and Femina have collaborated on several projects, including monitoring and evaluation activities and the development of the Femina Users' Guide, a handbook for teachers and others wanting to use Femina Magazine as a teaching resource. SPW and Femina are currently working together with Gtz to develop the first youth-friendly reproductive health website for young Tanzanians. UMATI (Tanzanian Family Planning Association) - SPW works closely with the UMATI Iringa Youth Centre. UMATI staff members are regular facilitators at SPW workshops, seminars and events and SPW promotes the UMATI-Angaza HIV/AIDS Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Services. SPW is currently working with UMATI on projects to provide youth-friendly health services in rural areas and to improve reproductive health services for students at the University of Dar es Salaam. Population Services International (PSI) - SPW and PSI have collaborated in a number of ways, including PSI supporting SPW events and festivals, partnership on an innovative rural condom distribution project, and the distribution of PSI-produced youth newspaper, Amua!, to SPW placements and the YDC in Iringa. SPW is currently working with PSI on the development of a series of short films, targeting young people with health messages through on-screen drama. |

Ishi - SPW is Ishi's implementing partner in Iringa region, coordinating all Ishi activities in the region and arranging a series of community awareness raising events. The Ishi community theatre group have also performed at a number of SPW events and festivals and have been involved in training the SPW Youth Talents Group in community theatre techniques. |

SHDEPHA+ - SPW works with SHDEPHA+ to promote the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, through education to combat stigma and discrimination, and inviting guest speakers from SHDEPHA+ to speak to students and community members at SPW events and festivals. Gtz - SPW are working together with Femina on the development of the youth-friendly reproductive health website outlined above. SPW ex-volunteers have been employed by Gtz for research projects and assisted in the development and translation into Swahili of Books no 7 and 8 of the Youth Question and Answer Booklets series, (focusing on the topics of Drug and Alcohol abuse). Radio Times - SPW is working with Radio Times to develop twice-weekly youth radio shows, focusing on a range of issues including reproductive health. These will be developed and presented by members of the SPW ex-volunteer network in Dar es Salaam. AMREF - SPW is looking at ways of working together with the AMREF Care and Support Programme in Iringa. SPW also has less formal working relationships with various other NGOs, including HakiElimu, Kuleana, CIDR, Friends Of Ruaha, Tanzania Home Economics Association (TAHEA) and Kiwohede. |
